Terms of use

Use WrenSlicer with care.

These draft terms are the agreement between you and Rustic Bird Manufacturing LLC ("we"), which makes WrenSlicer. They cover the apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, this website, and the online services the apps use. The final terms will be shown before public release.

Using the app

WrenSlicer helps you prepare models, create print files, and work with compatible printers. Use it lawfully and follow the instructions for your printer, materials, and workspace. You are responsible for choosing suitable settings and checking the finished file before printing.

You must be at least 13 to use WrenSlicer, and old enough to make a binding agreement where you live to buy a plan. If you use WrenSlicer for a business, you accept these terms for that business.

Print safety

3D printers have hot nozzles and beds, moving parts, and mains power, and some materials give off fumes. WrenSlicer sends commands that heat, move, and start your printer. Before you start a print from the app, make sure the printer is in a safe place, the bed is clear, and someone can respond if something goes wrong. Your printer maker's and material maker's safety instructions come first.

Starting, pausing, or watching a print remotely does not make it safe to leave unattended. Camera views and notifications can be delayed or stop without warning.

Parts you make

Model preparation, design tools, strength estimates, and AI suggestions can be wrong. Check dimensions, clearances, threads, strength, temperatures, and printer compatibility yourself. A preview or strength estimate is guidance, not a guarantee that a part will fit, hold, or be safe.

Do not rely on printed parts made with WrenSlicer where failure could hurt someone, such as load-bearing, climbing, lifting, vehicle, medical, food-contact, child-safety, or pressure parts, unless a qualified person has tested and approved the finished part for that use.

Models and designs you provide

You keep ownership of the files, photos, text, and other material you submit, and of the designs and print files you make. Only submit material you have the right to use. Do not use WrenSlicer to violate another person's rights or to make something unlawful, such as weapons or weapon parts where they are prohibited.

You give us permission to store, process, and send your material only as needed to provide the features you use, as described in the privacy policy. We do not use it to train AI models and do not sell it.

Optional AI features

AI features require an internet connection and send the information you choose to submit through WrenSlicer's service to its AI provider, Anthropic. AI responses may be incomplete or incorrect, and the same request can produce different answers. Review all generated designs and instructions before using them. Do not submit personal or sensitive information that the request does not need.

Each plan includes a number of AI designs and questions each month. Unused requests do not carry over. We may limit requests that look automated or abusive, or that would harm the service for others.

Printers and other companies

WrenSlicer is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any printer maker, and it never presents itself to a printer or service as another company's software. Printer makers can change their firmware or services in ways that stop a printer from working with WrenSlicer; when that happens we will try to restore support, but cannot promise to. The printer list shows what has been tested.

Desktop licence

The Windows and Mac app is licensed, not sold. While your plan is active, you may install it on computers you use and activate it on up to three of them at once. A computer that has not been used for 60 days frees its place, or you can free it yourself under Account. Licence keys are personal: do not share, resell, or publish them. We may switch off a key that has been shared or used against these terms.

Do not copy, resell, or redistribute the app, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows. Parts of the app are open-source software under their own licences, listed under Account › Open-source licences; those licences give you the rights they describe.

Subscriptions, trials and refunds

Some features require a paid plan. The app or website shows the price, billing period, included request limits, and any trial terms before you confirm a purchase. Plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Bought on the website: payments are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, whose name appears on your statement. Cancel any time from the link in your receipt email or under Account. If you are not happy, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. After that, payments are not refunded except where the law requires.

Bought in an app store: manage or cancel through your Apple account's subscription settings or Google Play's subscription settings. Apple and Google handle refunds under their own rules.

We may change prices or plan contents. A price change applies from your next billing period after we tell you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts others at risk, and will tell you why where we can. If we stop offering a paid feature you bought on the website, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.

Availability and changes

Features, printer support, and online services may change, be unavailable, or be discontinued. Slicing, the design tools, and printer connections on your own network work without our servers. We will publish updated terms when the service changes in a way that requires them, and tell account holders about important changes before they apply.

No warranty

WrenSlicer is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that it is fit for a particular purpose, error-free, or uninterrupted, and that prints or parts will succeed.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses; for lost material, filament, prints, time, data, or profits; or for damage to printers or property from prints you start. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Disputes

Please contact us first; most problems can be fixed by email. These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Rustic Bird Manufacturing LLC is organized and by United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If the consumer laws where you live give you more protection, those protections still apply.
